Although the new grass seeds will not produce new grass, it’s still important to maintain proper care of it during the seeding phase and to take advantage of the other benefits it offers. You can mow as usual during seeding, but you should always mulch your grass clippings afterward. Rather than picking up the clippings, use them to reap the benefits of this natural occurrence; the seedlings have a ton of nutrients that you can give back to your lawn. You should also water your lawn consistently to keep it hydrated as well as fertilize it. While seeding, your lawn will use a lot of energy and nutrients to try and reproduce. Using a fertilizer with extra nitrogen will replenish those nutrients and help it recover while encouraging a thick, strong lawn. It will also help your grass move past the seeding phase.
