Another sign that could indicate that your lawn is infested with grubs is if you are noticing an increased animal presence on your lawn. Certain animals like birds, raccoons, and opossums love to eat grubs, and once they find a spot where grubs are, they will continue returning to that spot to feed. If you are noticing an unusual animal presence on your lawn, and especially if they are digging through your lawn, that could mean that they are there feeding on grubs.
If you notice your lawn is dying, but you are fertilizing it and watering it frequently, grubs could be the culprit. Since grubs feed on the roots of your grass, your grass can become completely detached from the soil, and it won’t be able to absorb the nutrients that it needs to stay alive. If your grass is starting to die and there is no good explanation for it, there is a chance grubs could be the cause. You should reach out to a lawn care professional to inspect your property as they will be able to confirm if your lawn is infested with grubs or if your lawn is dying for a different reason.
